Course Overview

Psychotherapy Clinical Simulation (Clinical Sim) is an immersive, skills-based course that trains mental health providers to apply psychotherapy in realistic clinical encounters. Using simulated patient cases, learners practice assessment, therapeutic communication, intervention selection, and clinical decision-making in a controlled, feedback-driven environment.

This course is designed to move clinicians from knowing therapy concepts to executing psychotherapy with confidence and precision.

Purpose of the Course

Clinical Sim addresses a common gap in training:
👉 Knowing what therapy is vs. knowing what to say and do in session.

Participants learn how to think, respond, and intervene in real time, similar to OSCEs, inpatient consults, and outpatient psychotherapy sessions.

  • PMHNP students preparing for clinicals or boards

  • New PMHNPs transitioning into psychotherapy practice

  • Practicing NPs seeking to strengthen therapy confidence
